Why HDD fails for Resident Evil Requiem
Unlike previous entries in the series, Requiem doesn't load the entire level at once upon startup. Instead, it constantly "pulls" data from the disk based on where you look in the environment. A traditional mechanical hard drive (HDD) with its 100-150 MB/s speeds simply isn't responsive enough.
If you attempt to run the game from an HDD, expect:
- Severe FPS drops when moving between rooms.
- Late-loading objects (pop-in) and blurry low-res textures.
- Stuttering audio during cinematic cut-scenes.
